There are many kinds of manganese ores, but ores that  are worthy to exploit and beneficiate is mainly pyrolusite following by psilomelane and bog manganese, braunite, hausmannite, and manganite, and these types of manganese are all manganese oxide. The following is the manganese separation site in Malaysia:

Many separation ways like intensity magnetic separation, gravity separation and floatation separation can be used as manganese ore dressing method. However, intensity magnetic separation needs a large investment and it can not get high beneficiation efficiency when it comes to lumpy manganese ore; floatation separation needs chemical to work and will pollute environment to a certain degree. In contrast, gravity separator only needs water as medium and need no chemical to work with and it has large treatment capacity and high recovery rate. The following is about manganese ore dressing test by magnetic separation and jig gravity separation: 




For most of manganese oxide mine, manganese can be in form of blocks or granules, so the first step is to liberate the manganese inlay of blocks or granules from the impurities with a appropriate manganese separator. In the mixture of manganese and impurities, density of manganese is much bigger than that of impurities, so jigging gravity manganese separator can be a great choice to get the manganese concentrate. And the concentration flow is crushing-vibration screening-jigging separation-dewatering as the picture below shows: 


Here Forui, as a professional manufacturer of mining machinery, has designed jig separator which can be used as manganese separator for manganese separation. Forui jig separator AM30 and jig separator 2LTC912/4(A) are for big blocks of coarse manganese inlay while jig separator LTA1515/2,and 2LTC6109/8T are for small granules of fine manganese inlay. Then use strong magnetic separator to concentrate the manganese ore with particle size below 5mm.
As for manganese carbonate beneficiation, the flow shall be crushing-ball milling-flotation, then magnetic separation in case of the ore particle size is below 5mm.
